Who are we?

We are an innovative company of f.u.n.k.e. MITTELSTANDS GmbH. We develop and produce high-quality combined heat and power units for industrial, commercial and municipal use. We also offer comprehensive system solutions in the field of renewable energies. Our portfolio ranges from small, natural gas-powered CHP units with 30 kWel to complex plants for sewage gas power generation up to 500 kWel. Our system solutions, such as combined heat, power and cooling plants, round off our competence spectrum.

Our products

SEWAGE GAS

Sewage and wastewater treatment plants are ideally suited for the use of our combined heat and power plants due to their own electricity and heat demand structure. Combined heat and power generation can produce the process heat required for the digestion process of the sewage sludge and the drying process much more cost-effectively than through external procurement - the methane-containing gas obtained in turn via the digestion process is available at "zero cost", so to speak. The electricity generated is largely consumed at the plant itself. Any surpluses are fed into the public power grid.

F.u.n.k.e. SENERGIE GmbH builds, supplies and operates turnkey CHP plants for sewage gas operation, as well as components for sewage gas purification with nationwide service. Our product range includes sewage gas CHP units from 30 to 500 kWel. Our CHP gas engines are run as lean burn engines to reduce emissions of CO, NOx and HC. With our CHP units, we achieve the specified requirements in the environmental field.

NATURAL AND LIQUID GAS

Electricity prices electrify businesses - rising energy prices are causing more headaches for business than the euro crisis, according to a recent survey by the DIHK (German Chamber of Industry and Commerce) in which more than 1,500 companies took part
Here, natural gas-powered CHP units, in addition to other efforts at energy-efficient management, offer an economically secure alternative in the long term.

They not only generate electricity, but also convert up to 95% of the primary energy used into electricity and heat. Combined heat and power plants can therefore achieve a much higher degree of fuel utilization than separate electricity and heat generation.

Since natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas have the lowest CO2 and particulate emissions of all the conventional primary energy sources that can be used, our CHP units fired with them are increasingly being used in municipal properties and buildings as well as in manufacturing companies and commercial operations. Examples include large hotels, slaughterhouses, meat processors and other food processing plants, recycling and electroplating companies, and large bakeries.

Natural gas- or liquid gas-powered combined heat and power plants are economically interesting wherever a lot of heat and also a lot of electricity are required. In addition, excess energy generated is fed into the public grid and remunerated in accordance with the CHP Act.

BIOGAS

Biogas as a fuel for cogeneration plants is of great importance because it is mostly produced from renewable raw materials at the place of consumption.
The strong expansion of biogas plants in Germany is also having an effect abroad, where new biogas plants are being built in many European countries.

In addition to renewable raw materials, organic residues such as waste from food production or organic waste garbage cans are increasingly being used. The process and the process technology required for this is very similar to sewage sludge digestion, so that many years of experience can be drawn on here.

An additional aspect is the injection of biogas into the public natural gas network. The biogas can then be produced at one location, but refined into heat and electricity at another location in a f.u.n.k.e. SENERGIE CHP plant.

HYDROGEN

Hydrogen as a possible energy carrier of the future can be used to serve as intermediate storage e.g. from wind turbines by electrolysis.
The on-demand combustion of H2 during e.g. still wind phases is quasi emission-free and the resulting electricity can be fed into the grid. At the same time, the heat can be used on site.
Pilot plants of this future technology have already been running for several years with CHP units from our company.

With these innovative and technologically very sophisticated pilot plants, we are equipped to lead the way in the developing market and to realize new applications with creativity and technological competence.

DEPONIEGAS

Over their life cycle, landfills produce fermentation and digested gases with increasingly low methane content. The utilization of these gases places special demands on CHP technology. On the other hand, the use of these gases and their efficient conversion into heat and electricity from waste is a fundamental contribution to climate protection and ecology.

With our specially developed lean gas CHP units, we can process gases up to a proportion of 25 % methane and convert them efficiently into heat and electricity.

We have been able to prove our efficiency in many applications at large and small landfills. In doing so, we not only meet the requirements for usability with low methane content, but we also comply with TA Luft despite complex landfill gas composition.

SPECIAL GAS

Special gases as a special application for our CHP units are another component of our available technologies.

We have been able to use hydrogen and weak gases from landfills in many CHP applications and have developed comprehensive know-how from this, which can also be used for special gases through adaptations. Thus we are available as a competent partner for all customer-specific requirements for the use of special gases.
