EDENenergy is a deep-tech spin-off from Fraunhofer ISE in Freiburg that develops modular second-life energy storage systems for commercial and industrial applications.

Our idea addresses two key challenges of the energy transition: While the demand for stationary energy storage systems is growing rapidly, millions of micromobility batteries from e-bikes and e-scooters are discarded each year, even though they often still retain a significant portion of their original capacity. EDENenergy gives these batteries a second life.

Our proprietary power electronics enable the flexible integration of different battery modules into a single storage system. Each module is individually monitored and controlled. The concept is complemented by intelligent remote monitoring, modular battery interchangeability, and a patented safety concept designed to prevent thermal runaway at an early stage.

Our storage systems help companies increase their self-consumption of solar power, reduce peak loads, and lower energy costs. Even companies without their own solar systems can earn money through dynamic electricity rates with an EDENenergy storage system, thereby reducing their electricity costs. Our business model combines the sale of storage systems with an operating contract for monitoring, maintenance, and long-term service, ensuring that the storage system is always operated optimally.
