Who We Are
GreenTech BW brings together Baden-Württemberg’s expertise in environmental technologies. As a central hub, we support companies, start-ups, research institutions, ministries, associations, and other multipliers to strengthen the industry and accelerate the national and international implementation of GreenTech projects.
The platform is coordinated by the state agency Umwelttechnik BW, which promotes Baden-Württemberg as a business and technology location in the fields of environmental technology, resource efficiency, and industrial climate protection.
The platform is funded by two ministries: the Ministry of the Environment, Climate, and Energy Economy of Baden-Württemberg and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor, and Tourism of Baden-Württemberg.

Our Mission
Green technologies are a crucial part of our future – both for Baden-Württemberg as an economic hub and for a healthy climate and intact environment. In Baden-Württemberg, the GreenTech sector employs over 212,000 people (as of 2021), accounting for 3.3% of the total workforce. This is comparable to other key industries in the state, such as mechanical engineering (4.7%) and automotive manufacturing (3.8%)
Now is the time to increase the visibility of the sector, strengthen it further, and expand it. In the long run, Baden-Württemberg aims to become a leading market and provider in GreenTech.
