Vacuum automation systems from Schmalz optimize automated workflows, increase their speed, accuracy, and reliability, and thereby boost overall productivity. Our broad range of products in the vacuum automation business segment includes individual components such as vacuum grippers and vacuum generators, as well as complete gripping systems and clamping solutions for holding workpieces—for example, on CNC machining centers. In the Handling business segment, we offer innovative handling solutions for industry and trade with vacuum lifters and crane systems. Our products are used in logistics applications as well as in the automotive industry, the electronics sector, and furniture production.

In numerous industries, vacuum lifters from Schmalz ensure an efficient flow of materials. These include stationary and mobile lifting devices, precision cable balancers, crane systems, exoskeletons, and mobile conveyor systems. They make load handling faster and safer while protecting both people and materials. Schmalz provides customized solutions for a wide range of requirements.

In its energy storage business segment, Schmalz develops efficient storage solutions that enable large amounts of renewable energy to be temporarily stored and used as needed. 

At the heart of these redox flow battery systems is the so-called stack: this is where the conversion from chemical to electrical energy—and vice versa—takes place. Schmalz manufactures these stacks on an industrial scale at its headquarters in Glatten

ReduCO₂ is an EU-funded research project that investigates technologies and concepts to make municipal and industrial energy systems more climate-friendly and reduce CO₂ emissions—with a particular focus on the heating sector. The goal is to deploy the right solutions exactly where they will be most beneficial.

The result is user-friendly software that serves as a decision-making tool for municipalities, businesses, and public institutions. It makes complex scenarios easy to understand and supports sustainable local energy planning.

In the long term, the project aims to make the Northern Black Forest a model region for smart, climate-friendly energy supply.
