Klar2O GmbH, based in Bruchsal, Germany, is an award-winning cleantech start-up specializing in the development and marketing of innovative water filter systems. Our patented Smart Surface technology enables the highly effective removal of microplastics down to the nanometer range. The filtration efficiency is over 99 %.
Our filter media consist of biochemically coated silicon dioxide beads that bind pollutants from the water through molecular interactions. The filters are regenerable, recyclable and therefore particularly sustainable, in line with our zero-waste principle. In this way, we not only help to significantly improve water quality, but also actively protect the environment and health.
Areas of application:
Our solutions are scalable for industrial and household applications, from beverage producers to kitchen taps. The filter performance of Klar2O has already been tested and proven several times by renowned institutes such as Eurofins, SGS and Wessling.

Services
At the heart of the company is the patented Klar2O Smart Surface technology, in which biochemically coated silicon dioxide beads bind even nanoplastics and PFAS from the water through molecular interactions. The technology achieves a filtration efficiency of over 99%, which has been tested and proven by independent laboratories. The filter medium is regenerable, recyclable and therefore part of a zero-waste cycle.
Klar2O's filter solutions can be used for both domestic and industrial applications (e.g. beverage production, food processing) and can be flexibly integrated into existing systems. Klar2O is currently preparing to enter the international market with the support of research, funding programs and pilot projects, including as part of the Environmental Technologies Export Initiative.

Smart Surface products - high-performance filtration from microplastics to PFAS
K2O_MP - Microplastic filter
Removes micro and nanoplastic particles (20 nm - 5 mm) with over 99 % efficiency. Developed for applications in which contamination from plastic particles needs to be reduced.
K2O_POP - PFAS filter solution
Especially for binding so-called "perpetual chemicals" such as PFAS. The biochemical coating enables targeted retention of the smallest pollutant molecules.
Our filter media can be filled into cartridges of different sizes and designs. This means that Klar2O solutions can be easily integrated into existing systems or adapted for new applications - as required.
