Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar GmbH

Information

The Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region recognized early on that energy and environment were important aspects for the development of the region. Benefitting from a study conducted to identify its specific strengths and competencies, the region successfully participated in the competition “Wettbewerb zur Stärkung regionaler Cluster” (Building Stronger Regional Clusters) organised by the Land of Baden-Württemberg. Subsequently – in 2010 through 2012 and with funding support provided by the European Union - the region was able to set up its own professional “Energy & Environment” cluster. From this in mid- 2012 emerged the “Energy & Environment Department” as one department of the Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar GmbH.
