Accurate environmental data is essential for protecting the Earth's climate. Without such data, there would be no climate models. And without comprehensive measurement data for greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O), the calculations of greenhouse gas emissions of individual countries and regions cannot be validated.

In Germany, however, there are currently fewer than ten measuring stations for CO2 far away from emission sources such as cities and industrial areas. The recording of greenhouse gas emissions in urban areas is only just beginning. Did you know that? That's amazing, isn't it?
