Information
Our company was founded by Dr. Hansjörg Brombach in 1977 in Bad Mergentheim in northern Baden-Württemberg. With innovations such as the vortex valve, our company has specialized in storm water and combined sewage treatment from the very beginning. Following continuous development, the UFT workforce at the parent company now numbers around 70 employees. Around 20 % of these are engineers specializing in civil engineering, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering.
The company is divided into five specialist departments: "Hydro-Mechanics HM", "Electrical Engineering E", "Process Control Technology PLT", "Service and Maintenance S&W" and "Scientific Services WD". The interdisciplinary cooperation between the departments creates synergies and also allows complex tasks to be processed and solved.
Today, the UFT group of companies includes branches, subsidiaries and license partners in Europe, America and Asia. The group of companies is entirely privately owned and is managed as a partnership.
The close combination of commercial, innovative and practical activities as well as scientific research and teaching with worldwide contacts ensures that our company's products and processes are always at the cutting edge. The company is an active member of numerous national and international technical and scientific associations and their standard-setting bodies.

Products
Products for flow control in combined and separate sewer systems
Our product portfolio includes numerous devices for flow control, from passive throttles (throttle gate valves) to active flow controls (e.g. vortex valves in wet or semi-dry installation) and active flow controllers with setpoint/actual value comparison (adjustable knife gate regulator, Turbo vortex flow regulator, magnetic-inductive flow controller). Vertical vortex valves and membrane flow controls are available as "basic" versions for small drains and wet installation especially for the separation system.
Products for storm water tank cleaning
Stormwater and combined sewer overflow tanks must be cleaned during or after emptying to prevent permanent sludge deposits. Flushing tipping buckets or swivelling stirrer units from our product range are suitable for this purpose.
Products for backflow protection at overflow sills
To protect against flood-related backwater in wastewater systems via the overflow weirs, our product range includes slot-type check valves, pendulum flaps and frame flaps as well as round check valves for pipe outlets.
Products for gross solids retention at overflow weirs
We supply drum filters and fine screens with longitudinal bars, both with hydraulic drive, as well as the GiWA screen with optional water wheel drive or electric motor to retain unaesthetic coarse material (gross solids) at overflow weirs, especially in combined sewer systems. For simpler conditions, our product range includes the manually cleaned pendulum static screen and scumboards.
Products for rainwater treatment
For the sedimentative treatment of rainwater runoff, particularly from separate sewer systems, we offer counter-current lamella separator units as compact systems (optionally in prefabricated shafts) or cross-flow lamella separators for larger systems. Our sedimentation shaft is suitable for small catchment areas. We are also happy to assist you with the proper design of these systems, e.g. in accordance with the German standard DWA-A 102-2 or other standards of your country.
Products for water level control at overflow weirs of stormwater and combined sewer overflow tanks
In order to limit the water level at overflow weirs and/or for a compact structure design (shorter overflow weirs), spring-loaded weirs, bending weirs or air-regulated siphons from our product range can be used. The first two products mentioned can also be used as optional backwater protection against flooding.
