As Unocconi GmbH, we are a company from Filderstadt, Germany, that sells solutions for ecologically and economically sensible heat recovery in showers in Germany.

We are firmly convinced that these energy efficiency solutions , which are hardly known and widespread in Germany, are on a par with established methods such as PV or heat pumps. And absolutely suitable for making a substantial contribution to the heat transition.

There are basically two different methods for recovering heat from shower wastewater, shower channels and shower pipes. Both are based on the principle of preheating the cold water flowing to the mixer tap so that significantly less hot water is required for showering at the same temperature.

Shower channels with integrated heat exchangers are installed horizontally in the screed. The shower waste water flows through double-walled copper pipes in a cross-flow process and preheats the cold water to up to 25 °C.

Installation as part of a new build or refurbishment is very simple and quick for any plumber, with certified energy savings of 31 to 60 % depending on the number of heat exchanger pipes.

The shower channels from the Swiss company Joulia SA are of very high quality and can be used in private houses and apartments, hotels or sports facilities. Joulia shower channels have already been installed over 10,000 times in Europe.

Shower pipes with heat exchangers are installed vertically under the point drain of the shower.

The gray water from the shower flows through the 1700 to 2100 mm long pipes, which are installed on the floor below the shower, and preheats the cold water flowing in an outer concentric pipe in a counterflow process.

The double-walled shower pipe must be visually inspectable. If this is possible, then the shower pipes with certified energy savings of between 53 and 69 % and a resulting amortization period of around 2 years are an extremely sensible investment, both economically and ecologically. More than 100,000 shower pipes have already been installed in Europe, and Unocconi's range includes products from the Dutch market leader Counter Flow.
