Zentrum für Sonnenenergie- und Wasserstoff-Forschung Baden-Württemberg (ZSW)

Information

In 1988, the state of Baden-Württemberg, together with universities, research institutions, and companies, founded the ZSW as a nonprofit foundation under civil law. Solar energy and hydrogen technologies are currently evolving on an industrial scale into the building blocks of a sustainable energy supply for the 21st century. The following goals and priorities are derived from this.

The objectives of the ZSW’s work are:

  • Research and development of technologies for the sustainable and climate-friendly provision of electricity, heat, and renewable fuels
  • Translating R&D results into market-ready products (technology transfer)
  • Providing advice to policymakers and trade associations
