After water, concrete is mankind's most popular product - with a gigantic consumption of fossil resources. Its processing accounts for 8% of global CO2 emissions. After a short period of use, concrete structures become one of the largest waste streams in the world. Rement's vision is to understand this waste stream as a potential to counteract the consumption of fossil resources and to store CO2 in materials again.
The Rement technology extracts sand and concrete additives for the construction industry as well as a white color pigment for use in construction chemicals, paints, varnishes, paper or plastics from fine demolition concrete. CO2 is fed into the technology and stored in raw materials.
Rement is a spin-off of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The piloting of the technology is supported by the EXIST research transfer program co-financed by the BMWK and the EU. We look forward to hearing from potential technology users, material recyclers and companies with climate goals. We would be happy to support you with studies and joint pilot projects.
